Case Study 01 — Leak Check & Repair
Recurring Damp Under Kitchen Cabinet — Tamsui Apartment, April 2025
The Situation
A household in a 1990s apartment block had noticed intermittent damp appearing on the base of the kitchen cabinet under the sink. They had wiped it dry twice but it kept returning. The source wasn't obvious — no visible drip from the tap or drain.
What We Found
The flexible hose connecting the hot tap to the inlet valve had a hairline split near the compression fitting. It only wept under full pressure, which was why it appeared intermittent. The compression ring had also corroded slightly, which was likely the original cause of the split.
Outcome
Hose and compression fitting replaced, inlet valve checked. Dry test confirmed no further moisture. Visit completed within 75 minutes. Client noted the cabinet base had no further damp appearance at a follow-up contact three weeks later.

Complete Toilet Blockage — Older Row House, May 2025
The Situation
A single-toilet household in an older Tamsui row house had a complete toilet blockage with slow drainage from the adjacent bathroom basin as well. The owner had tried a plunger without result and was concerned the shared drain stack might be affected.
What We Found
A solid blockage in the toilet P-trap, likely built up over time rather than caused by a single incident. The basin drain was slow because it shared the same stack. The stack itself was clear — the problem was contained to the trap level, which made it simpler to address.
Outcome
Trap cleared, toilet flushing confirmed steady. Basin drain restored to full flow. Stack checked with a flow test. Client was given practical upkeep notes specific to older shared-stack configurations. Total visit time: 95 minutes.

Case Study 03 — Fixture Fitting & Pipe Review
Basin and Tap Replacement — New Taipei Apartment, May 2025
The Situation
A tenant had purchased a new basin and mixer tap and needed both fitted during a bathroom refresh. The existing installation was 15+ years old and the original supply pipes were galvanised. They were uncertain whether the old pipes would be compatible with the new fixtures.
What We Did
Scope agreed on arrival — basin, tap, and a pressure and pipe condition review included. Old basin removed carefully, galvanised supply pipes assessed (found adequate, no immediate replacement needed but noted as something to monitor). New basin and mixer tap fitted, connections made and tested. Pressure checked against building standard.
Outcome
Basin and tap installed, hot and cold flow confirmed, no leaks at any connection. Pipe condition report included in written summary — useful for the tenant and their landlord. Old fittings taken away. Visit: 3 hours including assessment and review.
